Concrete & Glass Fiber

This was our first exploration of bringing together two materials close to us — cement and glass. We built small molds from Legos, pressed them into Sculpey, and laid fine glass fibers within before pouring the cement. As it set, the mix transformed into concrete, dense yet unexpectedly alive. 

The result allowed light to move through the density of the material, revealing subtle pathways within its rigidity, and from this process emerged a series of concrete pendants and earrings.

We’re left wondering: how might these materials continue to speak to one another in future designs?
